The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
