The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
